Restyling of our CoCr material: focus on precision and efficiency
At MINDFAB, the needs and requirements of our customers are at the heart of everything we do. For this reason, we are pleased to announce an optimization in our material selection which is directly aligned with your feedback and day-to-day work.
Our continuous product development reflects our pursuit of precision and our passion for technology.

Subtile improvements with a big impact
The innovation in our CoCr alloy is a prime example of our approach of making proven products even better through targeted adjustments. The change to an alloy with tungsten instead of molybdenum may seem small at first glance, but it represents an improvement in processing and quality.
This adaptation is the result of our constant efforts to supply materials which not only impress with their quality, but also with their processing precision.
Your advantages in detail
The careful selection of our new CoCr alloy with the integration of tungsten brings with it specific advantages which will have a lasting impact on your daily work. Here is a detailed look at the changes and what they mean for you:
1. Improved machinability: Tungsten gives the alloy a larger chip which can be removed more easily than before. This leads to more efficient material removal and reduces the machining time per workpiece. For you, this means less waiting time and a higher throughput speed in your production processes.
3. Increased material homogeneity: A sophisticated manufacturing process achieves a more even distribution of the alloying elements within the blank. This ensures consistent material properties across the entire workpiece and from batch to batch. So you can rely on consistent and uniform results.
5. Increased efficiency in production: Overall, the new alloy enables you to achieve your production targets faster and with less effort. The increased efficiency in machining and reworking, combined with the durability of the tools and the homogeneity of the material, helps to optimize your processes and reduce production costs.
2. Simplified post-processing: The composition of the alloy minimizes the “smearing” of the material during processing – a behaviour occurring more frequently with alloys containing molybdenum. This results in a cleaner surface and simplifies the final finishing work. The end result is high-precision components with improved surface properties requiring less reworking.
4. Tool longevity: The optimized composition of the alloy results in reduced wear on your milling and machining tools. This means a longer service life for your tools and therefore cost savings in terms of new purchases and maintenance.
6. Continuity with veneering ceramics: The coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) of our new CoCr alloy is almost the same as the previous material, allowing you to continue using your existing veneering ceramics without any adjustments. This seamless compatibility facilitates integration into your existing work processes and ensures a smooth transition to the new alloy.
It is important to emphasize that the tungsten contained in the blank is not to be confused with tungsten carbide (WC), which is known for its hardness and potential tool wear. Our alloy is carbon-free, so there is no risk of tungsten carbide formation, which ensures the longevity of your tools.
Made in Germany: a promise of quality
The switch to the new alloy bears our MADE IN GERMANY seal of quality. This not only means outstanding material quality, but also reliable supply chains and support for local craftsmanship.
Our decision to choose this location underlines our commitment to supplying the best possible products.
Transparent information about pricing
We are aware that any change in materials raises questions about costs. We would therefore like to emphasize that the pricing of the new alloy has been carefully calculated to give you the best value for money. During the recent raw material crisis, we have kept prices constant and price increases are an absolute exception for us.
With this new alloy, we have also taken great care to keep price adjustments to a minimum so that we can continue to offer you the MINDFAB quality you are accustomed to at fair conditions.
We are here for you
Changes can raise questions. This is the reason why we are always available to answer them and support you in all matters. Whether it is about compatibility with existing materials or specific details of our new alloy, our team of experts is here to help you.
